Home to Sweet Home was created with a simple mission: to make home transitions easier, calmer, and more dignified for seniors and families. We understand that moving — especially later in life — is not just a logistical project. It’s emotional. It’s personal. It’s a major life moment.

Our Story

Rachel Milani
Owner

Home to Sweet Home was founded in 2014 by Lisa Bevens and Rita Bruechert, who built the company on dignity, respect, and hands-on support for seniors and families navigating major life transitions. In 2020, Lisa took full ownership of the business.

Then, after more than a decade of serving the community, Lisa began considering retirement so she could spend more time with family, travel, and enjoy her beautiful Minnesota lake home.

Around that same time, after a 30-year career in technology, Rachel Milani found herself ready for a new chapter — one that allowed her to use her strengths in a more personal and purpose-driven way.

When the opportunity to purchase Home to Sweet Home came across her plate and she met with Lisa, Rachel immediately felt the alignment: the mission, the heart behind the work, and her own experience navigating her parents’ downsizing and estate process as an only child.

In 2026, she acquired the company, carrying forward the founders’ vision with the same compassion, organization, and calm leadership that clients have trusted since the beginning.
